• Ability to approach a patient to elicit a detailed and accurate history,perform an appropriate physical examina! tion, identify problems ,formulate a plan of treatment, and re! cord the information for action or note of record.
• Facilitate the referral of patients to, and promoting their awareness of,health care facilities and other appropriate agencies and resources in the community.
• Diagnose medical conditions from infants to adults
• Prescribe medications for parents and children
• Administer medications to patients
• Oversee entry-level nurses
• Draft medical reports
• Advise new parents in childcare
• Treats chronic diseases, injuries, illnesses and infections
• Assist families of chronically ill or sick children
• Educate parents on disease processes
• Administer vaccinations
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with all staff and health care team members
SPECIFIC REGULATIONS FOR THE PRACTITIONER
• The practitioner will engage in pra! ctice only with the collaboration of a Supervising Physician of Record set forth in a Collaboration Agreement or a replacement Supervising Physician of Record in the event the original Supervising Physician of Record is no longer serving in that capacity
• A practitioner who enters this agreement may manage specific common deviations from wellness and stabilized long term illnesses by initiating laboratory and other diagnostic tests and/or prescribing or ordering medications and devices
