Description: CentraState Healthcare System is currently interviewing RN right now, this job will be placed in New Jersey. More complete informations about this job opportunity please read the description below. This unit has 12 voluntary and 7 involuntary beds. There is a very low turnover on this unit with a seasoned staff that is 100% ANCC certified. The primary diagnostic related illnesses include: depression, Bi-Polar dis! order and Schizophrenia. Co-occurring substance abuse exists in about 35% of the patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is usually 1:6 depending on acuity. ECT is available for patients in another area of the hospital.
The nurse is a member of a multidisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapist, Art and Activity Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, CADC, and Medical Director. All RNs complete Crisis Intervention training. The RN utilizes the nursing process to administer culturally sensitive, patient-focused care to assigned patients that is congruent with ANA standards, the NJ Practice Act, the Joint Commission, professional standards and Nursing Department Policies and Procedures that are evidence-based.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved program for Registered Nurses
- Current license to practice in New Jersey
- Two years experience in specialty required
- BSN or enrolled in program required
- Satisfactory completion of the specialty specific phar! macology test
- American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support training is required
- Any specialty credentialing required to be achieved within the first year and maintained thereafter include: CSMC IV Certification and CPR.
