Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Great metropolitan location!! Brand New Facility!! Hospital affiliated outpatient clinic needs an psychiatrist to help with their adult patient base. Must be credentialed with the hospital. Physician outpatient duties will include med management and evaluations of about 8-16 patients per day. Possible weekend inpatient call is available if desired. A psychiatrist (locum tenens! ) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
