The Clinical Documentation Specialist facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through concurrent interaction with physicians and other member! s of the health care team to support that appropriate clinical severity is captured for the level of service rendered to all inpatients. Collaborates with Coders for the arrangement of final DRG.
Qualifications:
Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with a broad clinical experience in an inpatient setting.
Prefer BS in Nursing or Registered Nurse with ten years acute care experience or RHIA/RHIT with ten years inpatient coding experience.
Clinical expert with at least two years recent inpatient experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in organization and planning. Computer experience required, including but not limited to Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Database Management. Must be able to communicate effectively by speaking clearly and distinctly in English.
Preferred qualifications include MS Office.
CCS or coding experience desirable , C! urrently licensed as a Registered Nurse
