Hospice Aide (HA) encompasses the terms for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Certified Home Health Aide. The HA provides personal care services for the patient. The HA (CNA/! CHHA) works under the clinical direction of the RN Case Manager for each patient/family.
A Hospice Aide (HA) must hold a current a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or a Certified Home Health Aide certification in their State of practice, according to the law governing such practice. They must practice within the scope of their respective certification.
Job Qualifications:
Experience
At least one year's experience as a CNA/CHHA preferred

Experience in hospice, home health or long-term care preferred.
Education
Graduate of a state accredited CNA/CHHA program. Current CNA/CHHA certification in state where the individual works.
Special Qualifications
Must be highly motivated, energetic and work interdependently. Desire to work with terminally ill patients and their families. Requires basic time management and organizational skills, strong interpersonal relationship skill! s, and must be supportive of organizational philosophy/policie! s. Possesses a valid and current state driver’s license and automobile insurance. Must have reliable transportation and vehicle insurance. Must be able to independently drive self to locations of patient service.
