Responsibilities
- Verify insurance benefits for nutrition counseling services, ensuring compliance with preventive care benefits and authorization requirements.
- Utilize various online platforms and resources to access insurance portals and obtain accurate information regarding coverage details.
- Conduct thorough eligibility checks for patients, verifying their insurance coverage and determining co-payments, deductibles, and maximum benefits.
- Collaborate closely with the billing team to obtain necessary information and resolve any insurance-related issues.
- Communicate insurance benefits and requirements to the team in simple and easy-to-understand verbiage.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to the team regarding insurance-related matters, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance policies, regulations, and billing codes to ensure compliance and accurate verification.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of insurance verification activities, including documentation of communication with insurance companies and clients.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of efficient workflows within the eligibility and benefits verification process.
