The Medical Information Systems Supervisor is responsible for daily turnaround of medical surveillance encounters. Responsible for overall production and performance of Medical Information Systems team activities including client satisfaction through the daily management of assigned staff.

Responsibilities:- Responsible for daily turnaround of medical surveillance encounters. Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Accessioning of lab work and exam components of medical surveillance encounters: Exam, Immunizations, Lab Only Encounters, Drug Tests, etc.
- Tracking of missing exam components with clinics and laboratories.
- Data entry of exam components into database(s).
- Primary preparation of employee file for letter and physician review.
- Correction in data entry or physician letters.
- Mailing of employee letters.
- Clerical functions as needed: faxes, chest x-ray process.
- Works on new client implementation projects such as record archival and database management.
- Maintains internal supply requests.
- Review UPS and Fed Ex invoices.
- Assist with lab exception reports (TIQ and NSR Reports).
- Assist with department fax and mail sorting.
- Daily pulling of charts/records for the Data Entry department.
- Delivers, transports, sorts and files returned records.
- Inner filing of miscellaneous medical records.
- Archival of Inactive records in house and at outside storage facilities.
- Maintain storage for medical records.

Provide day-to-day supervision to assigned staff of Medical Information Specialists.
- Effectively supervise, motivate and coordinate day-to-day staff work activities.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to each team member.
- Write and administer performance reviews for skill improvement.
- Ensure employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs.
- Address disciplinary and/or performance issues according to company policies in conjunction with Human Resources.
- Assist in the recruitment of Medical Information Specialists.
- Meet company/client deadlines and company goals.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly or annual reporting as needed.
- Performs additional duties and assumes additional responsibilities as identified by supervisor for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Additional college education to Associates Degree preferred.
- -or- one to three years related experience and/or training.
- -or- equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills
- Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, have strong Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills.
- Ability to learn other software as needed.
Physical Demands
- Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching could be required.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Work Environment
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
- Work Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy, and safety requirements.
