Position Description: CFG is now interviewing qualified Registered Nurses for opportunities to work within a correctional nursing environment in the medical department at Middlesex County Jail.
Performs assessments of inmate-patient in a variety of settings (intake, health care unit for sick-call emergency situations in housing, chronic care clinics, and medical unit.)
Utilizes assessment skills that require a knowledge base of both normal and abnormal adult health status
Plans nursing care by identifi! cation of inmate-patient needs based on assessments
Makes ! appropriate, timely referrals and initiates appropriate nursing care based on institutional policies and procedures
Implements nursing care and medical care orders in knowledgeable, safe and cost â€" effective manner
Documents nursing care and appropriate medically directed care in accordance with institutional policies and procedures
Provides inmate education as an integral part of total patient care
As team leader or charge nurse delegate’s duties to other health care team members based on skill, knowledge and experience and guides the provision of care by others
Participates in problem-solving activities of the health care team by attending unit meetings, utilizing positive interpersonal skills and appropriate channels to initiate change .
