Background and/or Security Investigation required. DUTIES:
VA New Jersey Health Care System (VANJHCS) seeks to recruit a part-time Primary Care (PACT) Physician at its Piscataway, NJ Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The CBOCs are a section within Ambulatory Care Service under the Chief Medical Officer and the Chief of the CBOCs, who ! reports to the Associate Chief of Staff/Ambulatory Care Service. The primary purpose of the Primary Care Physician is to provide comprehensive medical care to a panel of patients within the Piscataway CBOC. The health care services expected to be provided to veterans by the Primary Care provider include, though are not limited to: disease diagnosis, treatment, pain management, and preventive health care. The Primary Care Physician reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the immediate designated clinical supervisor, and collaborates with the CBOC Administrative Officer (AO) and others assigned as CBOC administrative and clinical supervisors (Nurse Manager/Administrative Supervisors). He/She provides assistance of clinical, technical, specialized, and/or administrative support in nature to all administrative and clinical staff assigned to the CBOC.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: See VA Handbook 5005, Part III, Chapter 2, paragraph 7, and VA Handbook 5019, Occupation! al Health Services. Work is mostly sedentary in nature. Work requires m! oderate lifting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the following:

Basic Requirements:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English
U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Preferred Experience:
Board certification or eligibility is preferred
Completion of a residency training program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
