Coordinates Medical Staff QI activities in! cluding peer review. Acts as a coordinator of Medical Staff performance improvement activities. Performs medical record abstraction for Core Measures (TJC, CMS, NJDHSS and QIO).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates collection and communication of data and quality events regarding medical staff performance improvement. Assist the Director of Medical Staff QI in the medical staff performance improvement process and activities. Medical record abstraction per required guidelines within mandatory time frames as designed by CMS/TJC.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associates’s Degree in Nursing.
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least five (5) years hospital experience
REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
Current New Jersey RN licensure.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Excellent computer, critical thinking and communication skills. Understanding of Quality! Improvement Methodologies and Medical Record Review.
! DESIRED OR PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITY
Demonstrable experience in investigation of Quality Events through medical record reviews and interpersonal communication with staff. Knowledge of data abstraction guidelines of CMS/TJC. Knowledge of Midas+ quality event tracking system and electronic medical records.
