Position: CORE Fellowship Early Intervention Professional

Pay: $25 per hour.

CORE FELLOWSHIP DESCRIPTION:

As an CORE Fellowship Early Intervention Professional, you will be given the opportunity to be networked with our partnered Early Intervention Providers, where your primary responsibility will be to implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for families, fostering child-centered play and natural environments. You will assist in evaluating children in five developmental areas:

  • Social-Emotional
  • Adaptive/Self-Help
  • Communication
  • Physical
  • Cognitive

You will work directly with learners and their families, offering coaching and supportive strategies to cultivate strong intrafamilial social-emotional bonds. Your role will involve guiding parents and caregivers in providing tailored learning experiences based on each child's needs, interests, and functioning levels. Maintaining accurate documentation to monitor the overall effectiveness of treatment plans and engaging in open and frequent communication with team members will also be crucial.

Duties:

  • Conduct developmental screenings/assessments and provide child development services.
  • Collaborate with family members and other professionals working with the family.
  • Follow each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and develop methodologies to achieve specific developmental goals.
  • Coach family members and caregivers on intervention strategies to promote active involvement and carry-over in home and community settings.
  • Deliver services in diverse environments such as homes, daycare centers, and other community settings (virtual services also available).
  • Ensure progress is generalized and caregivers actively participate in interventions by addressing specific goals and conducting coaching sessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations.

Requirements for College Students:

  • Enroll in a 2023 Associates/Bachelors/Graduate Degree Program in a human services field:
  • Psychology
  • Child Development
  • Speech Language Pathology
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Behavior Analysis
  • Communication Disorders or related field
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in all major related units.
  • Provide a statement agreeing to participate in and complete program trainings and activities.
  • Commit to working as an Early Intervention Professional for a minimum of one year in a California Regional Center contacted agency selected program.
  • Commit to pursuing certification/license or education in Psychology, Special Education, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Early Childhood Development, or Behavior Analysis.

Requirements for College Graduates/Working Professionals:

  • Hold an Associate/Bachelors/Graduate Degree in the Human Services Field:
  • Psychology
  • Child Development
  • Speech Language Pathology
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Behavior Analysis
  • Communication Disorders or related field
  • Commit to working as an Early Intervention Professional for a minimum of one year in a California regional center contacted agency selected program.
  • Possess existing certification/license in Psychology, Special Education, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Early Childhood Development, or Behavior Analysis.
