One Degree is a completely remote organization, however, you must reside in one of our service areas: Los Angeles or the Bay Area in California, New York City, Summit County in Colorado, South West area of New Mexico, Detroit Michigan, or Gainesville, Florida. This role has a very flexible schedule and you can work anytime. This is a contractor role that does not receive benefits or equipment. A computer, wifi access, and a phone are needed for this role. Candidates must be eligible to work and be based in the United States. We are not able to provide sponsorship at this time.

Position Description:
We are looking for a part-time Resource Specialist (15-20 hours/week) to help us grow a database of resources across current and future communities. This position will conduct online research, outreach to organizations, and update resource information in our database of over 30,000 free and low-cost community resources.
A Resource Specialist is an integral member of the Resource Management team. You will help ensure all resources are up-to-date, comprehensive, easy to understand, and equitable.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct online and phone research to obtain and ensure resource information is accurate and up-to-date in the communities we serve.
- Extract important information about nonprofits and social services from documents and websites.
- Write resource information and publish it on the One Degree website.
- Maintain data standard requirements by following data guidelines.
- Verify external resource information entries by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Understanding of the social service landscape, either as a resource-seeker or service provider
- Access to a computer and reliable internet
- Excellent written English, including proper grammar
- Strong independent worker on your schedule in a remote workspace
- Reside in Los Angeles or the Bay Area in California, New York City, Summit County in Colorado, South West area of New Mexico, Detroit Michigan, or Gainesville, Florida
- (Preferred) Experience in working with or in a nonprofit and/or social service organization
Education/Training Requirements:
- There are no education or training requirements for this role
- (Preferred) 1–2 years experience in routine data entry is preferred
